During 1965, serial numbers changed. The first two digits represented the month, the next digit represented the last digit of the year. The remaining numbers indicated order of production.
Starting in 1967, "made in USA" was stamped on the back of the headstock.
From 1973-1981 the serial numbers were hyphenated. First digits before the hyphen represented the month, first digit after hypen represented the year.
